Graffiti writing has always been a controversial topic and that will not soon change. Here is a video from 1976 which is around the time that Graffiti writing really took off.  Watching the video from a 2012 view-point you can’t help but to laugh at some of the things in the video.  Regardless, this 13 minute long public address takes on Graffiti from a variety of angles.
