Maurice Sendak: 1928 – 2012

Childhood became even more of a distant memory for many people today with the passing of Maurice Sendak.  Maurice authored “Where The Wild Things Are” and was praised for his ability to transform children’s literature from the safe cookie cutter books to reveal a deeper, darker & more beautiful look at the human psyche. The image above is a street piece by one of GJ’s favorite artists – Los Angeles based Morley.

Maurice was 83 years old.
